Successful internet marketing employs the use of articles written utilizing primary and secondary keywords.  This technique will promote higher page ranking with the search engines.  The placement of primary and secondary keywords in your article will determine the degree of success you will achieve promoting traffic to your website.  It goes without saying that your article will need to be interesting and able to catch the attention of its readers.

Here are some guidelines you can implement when using primary and secondary keywords:

Your URL should contain your primary keyword or keyword string.  This will help your page rank higher with the search engines.

Use your primary keyword or keyword string in the title of your article.

Primary keywords are keywords that you want to appear four or five times in your article. You want to include your primary keywords in the first paragraph of your article.  Do not alter these and it is best to use them at the beginnings and endings of sentences.  The more you use primary keywords the better ranking the article will receive.  However, if you are submitting your article to an article directory, be sure to check their guidelines for their keyword use ratio.

Secondary keywords can be altered to use in your sentence and should only be used once.

The Google Toolbar gives you information on where your page ranks.  This tool ranks articles from 0 – 10.  If your page is ranking a zero, it is time to do some revisions!  This means that it is at the bottom of the Google search engine ranking.  If your page ranks ten you have done a great job.  This means that this site is one of the first sites to show up when someone performs a search.

The Google Keyword Tool is a dynamic in helping you research what keywords are high in searches and competition.

Another way to get your page ranking higher is by creating back links to your website.  The more links you create the higher your rank will be with the search engines.  One way to achieve this task is to submit your blog and RSS feeds to as many blog search engines and article directories as possible.  Exchange your links with other blogs and network with as many people as possible on their blogs.

To optimize search engine results update the information on your blog or website frequently.  The search engine spiders are always seeking new content. If you have the same content for extended lengths of time your ranking will decrease.

In summary the following procedures will help you reach page one, if not position on Google:

  • Correct use of primary and secondary keywords in the content of your website.
  • Make use of the Google Toolbar or other available tools to keep abreast of your page ranking.  Make necessary changes.
  • Use back links.
  • Place new content on your website frequently.

I hope this information has been helpful.
